Tour Plan

At 0800hrs, you will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha and depart for Tarangire National Park arriving at 1000hrs. Tarangire National Park is Tanzania’s third largest national park and sanctuary, famous for its unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lion, leopard, cheetah, and up to six thousand elephants. Late evening at around 1700hrs, drive to your lodge facing the Great Rift Valley escarpment for dinner and overnight.

Early breakfast and leave the lodge at 0630hrs, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Descend into the 100-square-mile Ngorongoro Crater to view game on the vast grasslands of the crater floor. The bottom of the crater dotted with watering holes, shelters almost 30 000 animals in an area naturally enclosed by the slopes of the volcano. You will find the Big Five lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard among others. Ngorongoro crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and surrounded by very steep walls rising 610 meter from the floor, it is considered to be one of the Wonders of the Natural World and is a veritable haven for wildlife. Spectacular animal life can be found throughout the year due to the permanent availability of grass and water. Picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool, later at 1600hrs ascend and arrive at your lodge for a sunset.
Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge
After breakfast you will enjoy a nature guided walk around the lodge compound where you will experience the breathtaking green forest, learning about the surrounding nature, culture and economic activities of the local people. After lunch at 1300hrs, you will depart for a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. The Park is dramatically marked off by lush green vegetation consisting of tall trees of the groundwater forest, which provide home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. The forest opens up into woodland, grassland, swamps and the soda lake itself where over 350 species of birds, including the flamingo, pelican, sacred ibis, grebe and stork can be viewed. At the southern end of the park you will see the hot sulphur springs called MajiMoto. Manyara is noted for its numerous buffalo, elephant, giraffe, impala, hippo, and a large variety of smaller animals. You may also spot the elusive tree-climbing lion.
Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge
You will rise early for a farewell private bush breakfast at the lodge where you can take in the great view of Lake Manyara National Park.
At 1000hrs drive to Arusha for hot lunch and after lunch transfer to either Arusha Airport/Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onwards flight.
